Goodness! Google news picked Cliterati up after Guido linked to it. The glory!
Altai texted me today to say she liked my revisions of her texts a lot. I'm giving story by story her texts to her as I am done with each. This feedback is good news--it means I can go ahead and dig into the edits and trust that the instinct I have for making each piece grammatically correct but also more fluid are instincts Altai agrees with. A few different online publications have expressed interest in hosting whole stories, but just to give you a taste, here's the first paragraph from the story I'm working on now, called "Two Lives":
In Berlin there blew a freezing wind and flurries of snow. A man of about forty in a long black jacket walked with an air of dignity and self-assurance along a street of Soviet-era blockhouses. The cold seemed no matter to him and he appeared to be enjoying his surroundings, watching with pleasure as the street was gradually hidden under snow. This street, home to people of different nationalities, somehow felt similar to his birth city of Ulaanbaatar. He couldn't explain to himself why a certain resonant emotion from another time and place had found its way to him here in Berlin. Byambaa had many times found occasion to journey to Berlin but never to stay there and take his time. He yearned for Berlin as though at the call of his heart.
